Head coach of the Black Princesses of Ghana, Yussif Basigi, believes his squad is ready to take on the Nigerian Falconets.
On Thursday night (today), the hosts and their longtime opponents will play in the women's football championship final at Cape Coast Stadium.
The match is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. Nigerian time.
With three victories in a row, the Falconets hold a perfect record at the 13th African Games.
The team led by Chris Danjuma has eight goals without giving up any.
Although Basigi acknowledged the Falconets' strength, he believed his team had what it took to defeat their rival.
At a news conference, Basigi stated, "We vary our games and with the strength of the Nigerians, I think Uganda and Senegal are equally strong but we overcame them."
"We are capable of competing against Nigeria because they are a formidable and technically proficient team." As the head coach of the Black Queens, I have experience playing against the Super Falcons, so this is not my first time playing against Nigeria," he remarked.
