The youth and student community stand firm in our commitment to uphold justice, accountability, and the protection of our fellow citizens.

In a poignant display of unity and determination, the House Leader of Business of the Ekiti Youth Parliament, Hon. Adegoke Oyindamola, represented the Speaker of the Ekiti Youth Parliament, Rt. Hon. Tunde Olusanya, in the Justice Walk. Addressing the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Stephen Aribasoye, Hon. Oyindamola conveyed the urgent demands of the youth and student community:

1. Justice: We demand a thorough and expeditious investigation into the circumstances surrounding the untimely demise of Iyanda Damilola. Those responsible must be swiftly brought to justice to ensure accountability and deter similar incidents in the future.

2. Compensation for the Deceased Family: The bereaved family of Iyanda Damilola deserves both solace and support during this challenging time. We call upon the government to provide adequate compensation to alleviate their suffering and assist them in rebuilding their lives.

3. Medical Care for Iyanda Oluwafemi: We urge for the full medical treatment and care for Oluwafemi, the brother of the deceased, who sustained a gunshot injury during the incident. It is imperative that he receives the necessary attention to facilitate his recovery and well-being.

4. Urgent Investigation: The gravity of this situation necessitates an immediate and thorough investigation. We implore the authorities to prioritize this matter and utilize all available resources to apprehend the perpetrators and ensure that justice is served.

The Ekiti Youth Parliament, alongside our partners in the student community, remains steadfast in our pursuit of justice and accountability. We urge the government and law enforcement agencies to heed our call and take decisive action to address these pressing concerns.
